Moi International Airport (MBA) in Mombasa, Kenya has been awarded as the best airport in Africa for the year 2022 by the Airports Council International. The award recognizes MIA’s exceptional customer service in the category for airports with under two million passengers per year.
This prestigious award is based on the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, which captures passengers’ experiences at all airport passenger contact points. The ASQ survey is the world’s leading airport customer experience measurement and benchmarking program, with nearly 400 participating airports in 95 countries.
Moi International Airport has two runways; Runway 1 measures 3,350 meters in length, and Runway 2 measures 1,260 meters in length. It serves the city of Mombasa and surrounding communities and is operated by Kenya Airports Authority. The airport was expanded to an international airport in 1979.
